Local outreach is an important part of the ministry at Calvary . God has enabled us to witness thousands of lives changed by the power of reaching out.
Bus ministry: The bus ministry reaches out to homeless men and women in Daytona by providing transportation to our 10:30am service. Showers, clothing, coffee and bible study is provided. After service, each Bus Ministry guest receives a hot meal. Wednesday nights we offer park n ride from Palm Coast and New Smyrna
SHINE: Shine is Calvary ’s own version of Sidewalk Sunday School. Teams Spread Hope In Neighborhoods Everywhere through door to door visitation and weekly services held right in the heart of each neighborhood. Each year Shine distributes hundreds of toys at Christmas time and provides backpacks and school supplies every fall.
Prison Ministry: Calvary reaches out at local prisons and jails through services and mentorship programs. We also provide DVDs for inmates to view our Sunday services.
Special Events: Daytona Beach hosts several large events throughout the year such as Bike Week and Spring Break. We take the opportunity to evangelize the masses by being a presence at these venues and share the gospel of Jesus Christ.
Beauty for Ashes: Ministry to Single Moms meets Sundays following the 10:30am worship service in the CRAVE Café for lunch and a time for ministry. Lunch is provided at no charge, child care is available after lunch. This is a time of support, teaching and encouragement to single moms. (We do not meet on 5th Sundays.)
S.T.R.E.E.T. (Spreading Truth Reaching Evangelizing Every Territory): Our mission is to take the love and truth of Christ to places where people are searching for answers. The team goes out every other Friday from 10:30pm to about 3am. We start with homeless feeding around North St. We feed them pizza at the times that most agencies are closed. We fellowship with them and pray for them before leaving for club outreach. During club outreach we stand on the corner of Seabreeze Blvd & Grandview Ave. This is a place where in just a couple blocks from each other, there are 3 night clubs, 2 strip clubs, and over 4 bars. We use different strategies to speak truth into the lives of these people, and give them invitations to accept Christ.
Midnight Angels: The mission of this outreach is to minister to woman that have fallen victim to the adult entertainment industry. This industry has convinced these woman that there is no other way to make it financially, except to work in places like this. Midnight Angels outreach is a monthly outreach with by weekly meetings. We go directly into the strip clubs in Volusia County and bring in gift bags. Inside the gift bags we place girly gifts, tracts, invitations to Bible studies, and church services. (Woman only)
Adopt A Block: Adopt A Block is an outreach that was started by father and son Pastors Tommy & Matthew Barnett, founders of the LA Dream Center. The mission of this outreach is to go into low income neighborhoods and adopt the needs of families. Through the Love Center, we supply food and clothes. We are also taking donations for furniture to provide needs such as beds, couches, dinning room sets for families that are desperate for these common necessities. The Adopt A Block Team goes out every other Friday.
JDC Ministry Juvenile Detention Center: JDC Ministry holds chapels the last Saturday of each month. These chapels are geared specifically for the youth. These youth services are designed to show these kids that church could be cool, with human videos, Christian rappers, testimonies, and altar calls. We also connect with the youth and their families, in hopes that we get them connected to a good Bible teaching church and youth groups upon release.
Calvary Christian Riders: Calvary Christian Riders is a ministry for Bikers based out of our church, click here to go to the official website to view information.
